The European Natural Beauty Awards is a recognition event in the natural cosmetics industry that highlights the highest-quality natural beauty products and tools, as well as professionals who have significantly contributed to the industry’s growth and helped expose greenwashing practices.
It is the first platform in Europe dedicated to acknowledging and awarding natural cosmetics, and it holds its participants to the same standards as European natural cosmetics certifications: ingredients must be at least 99% of natural origin. These strict entry requirements filter out most applicants, allowing only truly natural products to shine.
The goal of the event is to normalize the use of natural cosmetics and to spotlight future innovators in the field. ENBA’s 100-member jury consists of industry professionals, certification representatives, retailers, and international public figures from the worlds of fashion, film, music, sports, and media.
This year, over a thousand European brands applied for the competition. From Finland, 12 companies made it to the finals — one of which is Blank&.
The European Natural Beauty Awards ceremony will be held in Paris on September 29, during Paris Fashion Week. Last year, the awards event was hosted in Stockholm.
In 2022, the event was still known as the Nordic Natural Beauty Awards. In 2023, it expanded to include all of Europe, prompting the name change.
Satu Mäkinen, founder of the awards, explains that after four years of organizing the Nordic Natural Beauty Awards, the event was opened to non-Nordic brands due to high demand — there simply wasn’t another platform like it to highlight the best in natural cosmetics. Mäkinen points out that Finland produces exceptionally high-quality natural cosmetics, and that many domestic brands have great potential on the international market. The European Natural Beauty Awards offers an excellent springboard for that.
